"A Blessing" Before You Read: Break into Blossom

A break into blossom

My break into blossom occurred when I was at my sixth grade camping experience. I was only 11 years of age. On the bus ride there I couldn’t stop looking at all the trees flying by the car window it was like they never ended and they were moving faster than I was. For some reason the movie “jeeper’s creepers” kept coming to mind by the sight of the half dead forest. Once we arrived we were given a tour of the camp site and everything surrounding us. I didn’t pay to much attention because I was still focused on the tall giants swaying and rustling their leaves so loud I couldn’t concentrate. Once the tour was over we packed all our stuff away and head down to the mess hall. Once I was unpacked I bent over to tie my shoe for two seconds and once I pulled that last loopty loop, I looked up and every one way was gone. I jumped up and ran as fast as I could out the door and they were still no were to be seen , just trees. In every direction, there was nothing but these beasts intimidating me sprinkling the smallest seeds that would take their time fluttering through the wind and down to me only to remind me that I was alone. Scared frozen I shook for a long time trying to reach my whistle to my mouth. Once I got it there I blew as loud as I could over and over and over. After about five minutes of repeated blows I was finally rescued. I wasn’t ever in any real trouble but it sure did feel like it. I felt that was my break into blossom because since that experience I am forever in love with trees.
